Holmby Hills Community

Holmby Hills, a neighborhood in western Los Angeles, is bordered by Bel-Air, Beverly Glen, Beverly Hills, Century City, and Westwood. The reference "GOlden Triangle" includes Holby-Hills along with Bel-Air and Beverly Hills. Together they make up the priciest and most exclusive neighborhoods in greater Los Angeles and boasts exquisite views of the Los Angeles Basin.

With such luxurious surroundings, it is no wonder that Holby Hills is the home to some of the entertainment industries most powerful people including Jimmy Iovine (Interscopew Records), Aaron Spelling (producer), and probably most notably Hugh Hefner whose home is more commonly known as the Playboy Mansion. Holmby Hills has long been home to this type of notoriety, even back to one of its prior residents, Walt Disney.

Holmby Hills Education

Holby Hills is a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District in Local District 3.

Students generally attend Warner Avenue Elementary School, Ralph Waldo Emerson Middle School, and University High School.

Holmby Hills History

The late 1920s and early 1930s was the beginning of this luxury community. Originally a 2,000-acre ranch, Holby Hills was a 400-acre parcel developed as "the Ultimate In Residentail Estate Development". Lot sizes have historically been anywhere up to 4 acres each, with the help of zoning to guarantee large estates and utilities were wisely installed underground thusly keeping intact the exquisite visual presentation. Holmby Hills Recreation

South of the main thoroughfare, Sunset Boulevard, is Holmby Park. There you will find two playgrounds for young residents, a 9-hold putting green, and lawn bowling. Established in 1927 was the Holmby Park Bowling Club. The recreation options don't stop there, especially when it comes to golf.
